General Information

Pupates in a folder leaf of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 17-20mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Nettle (Urtica dioica), Hedge Woundwort (Stachys sylvatica), Common Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea), Wood Avens (Geum urbanum), honeysuckles (Lonicera spp.), herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, late May-late July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland, hedgerows, fens, heathland, grassland, scrub and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 66 (24.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 2022

Recorded date range (Adult): 18 May to 28 August
