General Information

This is one of several very similar Coleophora species which can only reliably be distinguished by genital dissection.

 

The adults have a metallic bronzy-green/purple sheen at the apex of forewing.

 

Although both this species and C. frischella are on the British list, C. frischella has only been recorded a handful of times from the west of Britain.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.

Habitat

Rough grass and roadside verges.

Regional Information

Recorded in 45 (16.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
