General Information

This is one of three similar relatives. It has diagnostic white head/palps and a white thorax. The forewing is sometimes weakly flushed with pink.


Wingspan: 12-15 mm.
Foodplant(s): Ox-tongue fungus (Fistulina hepatica), hawk's-beards (Crepis spp.)
Flying: One generation, July-August
National status: Local

Habitat

Chalk and limestone rough grassland, scrub and coastal habitats.

Regional Information

Recorded in 104 (38.5%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
