General Information

Pupates in a cocoon attached to the underside of a leaf.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Flies during the day

Forewing length: 18-21mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Nettle (Urtica dioica), White Dead-nettle (Lamium album), Ground-ivy (Glechoma hederacea), Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), honeysuckles (Lonicera spp.), herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, early July-early August
UK Presence: Resident, Possible Immigrant
National status: Common

Habitat

Moorland, woodland clearings hedgerows and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 2 (0.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
