General Information

Pupates deep in sand.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 17-21mm.
Foodplant(s): Creeping Willow (Salix repens), chickweeds (Stellaria spp.), wormwoods (Artemesia spp.), Common Bird's-foot-trefoil (Lotus corniculatus), mouse-ears (Cerastium spp.), plantains (Plantago spp.)
Flying: One generation, mid August-September
UK Presence: Resident and Immigrant
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Habitat

Sandy beaches and heathland.
