General Information

This species has pale sandy-brown markings.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 11-14mm.
Foodplant(s): Red Campion (Silene dioica), White Campion (Silene latifolia), Bladder Campion (Silene vulgaris)
Flying: One generation, June-July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland, commons, chalky ground, fens, hedgerows and grassland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 55 (20.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
