General Information

Pupates in a cocoon formed between leaves of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 16-19mm.
Foodplant(s): Aspen (Populus tremula), poplars (Populus spp.)
Flying: One generation, May-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Broadleaved woodland and other areas with established aspen.

Regional Information

Recorded in 20 (7.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 2018

Recorded date range (Adult): 02 May to 15 August
