General Information

The typical form of this species is creamy white with a slight silken lustre. There is also a differently-marked form, f. warringtonellus, which has heavy streaking.


Wingspan: 21-28 mm.
Foodplant(s): grasses
Flying: One generation, July-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Grassland, gardens, woodland, heathland and fens.
