General Information

This species can be distinguished from A. lineana by its broader forewing semifasciana, which lacks the greyish suffusion along the dorsum.


Wingspan: 17-20 mm.
Foodplant(s): sallows (Salix spp.)
Flying: One generation, July-August
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Habitat

Woodland, margins of osier beds, fens, banks of ponds and streams, hedgerows and open situations.

Recorded in 5 (1.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
