General Information

This moth has a red head and deep coppery brown wings.

 

The larvae create a slender gallery mine which often follows the leaf margin and which widens abruptly forming a false blotch. It is common to find several mines on one leaf.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 4-5mm.
Foodplant(s): Crab Apple (Malus sylvestris)
