General Information

This is one of three species in which the adults can only be reliably identified by genital dissection.

 

The larvae products a long irregular gallery.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 5-6.5mm.
Foodplant(s): Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur), oaks (Quercus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August-September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Regional Information

Recorded in 42 (15.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
