General Information

This moth has bronzy brown forewings with a silver metallic fascia.

 

The larvae produce a slender gallery, the frass becoming distinctly coiled.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 5-6 mm.
Foodplant(s): Beech (Fagus sylvatica)
Flying: Two generations, April-May and July-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Regional Information

Recorded in 25 (9.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in November 2021
