General Information

A very small, sandy/light brown moth. Forewing pointed. Small black/brown dots on wing fringes which might be difficult to see. The two central cross-lines are usually clearly defined with the inner band being stronger. A third inner line is sometimes just visible.

 

Pupates in plant debris on the ground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Flies during the day

Forewing length: 10-12mm.

Flying: One generation, mid June-early August
UK Presence: Resident, Possible Immigrant

Habitat

Coastal. Vegetated shingle and grasses/herbs growing on stabilised sand.
