General Information

This species flies in the hour before dusk and occasionally comes to light.

 

Pupates in a stem of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Flies during the day

Forewing length: 10-12mm.
Foodplant(s): Jointed Rush (Juncus articulatus), Sharp-flowered Rush (Juncus acutiflorus), Soft-rush (Juncus effusus)
Flying: One generation, July-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Fens, marshes, heathland and wet meadows.

Regional Information

Recorded in 18 (6.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
