Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 16-19mm.
Foodplant(s): birches (Betula spp.), oaks (Quercus spp.), Broom (Cytisus scoparius), Bog-myrtle (Myrica gale), Heather (Calluna vulgaris), Dyer's Greenweed (Genista tinctoria), Bracken (Pteridium aquilinum), broadleaved shrubs
Flying: One generation, June-July
UK Presence: Resident

Heathland, moorland and woodland.
