General Information

This species is quite variable in ground colour.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 15-18mm.
Foodplant(s): clovers (Trifolium spp.), docks (Rumex spp.), plantains (Plantago spp.), herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, July- mid September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Gardens, farmland, download, open grassland, wet areas and open woodland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 69 (25.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
