General Information

This species is very similar to the Common Marbled Carpet, but is much less common.

 

Pupates in leaf litter.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes come to light.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 14-19mm.
Foodplant(s): broadleaved shrubs
Flying: One generation, July-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland, heathland and moorland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 34 (12.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 2013

Recorded date range (Adult): 18 June to 09 September
