General Information

This moth has a golden brown forewing very similar to T. ekebladella.


The larvae produce a flat brown blotch mine on the upperside of a leaf. The completed mine has a 'scallop shell' appearance.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.

Wingspan: 6-7mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.), Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa)
Flying: One generation, June
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Woodland.
