General Information

This species was first discovered in London in 1989. It is slowly spreading through the Southern counties.

 

The larvae create large mines, often several in one leaf.


Wingspan: 8-10mm.
Foodplant(s): London Plane (Platanus x hispanica)
Flying: Two generations, April-May and August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Regional Information

Recorded in 36 (13.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
