General Information

This species has distinct white costal streaks and is larger than the similar M. subbistrigella.

 

First generation larvae form a gall within the stem. The second generation feed either in a seed pod, or in a gall.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.

Flying: Two generations, July-August and September-May
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Habitat

Waste ground, heathland and urban areas.
