General Information

This moth has a deep purple forewing which is crossed by a broad brassy fascia near the base (from which its name is derived).

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 5-6mm.
Foodplant(s): agrimonys (Agrimonia spp.), Tormentil (Potentilla erecta), Creeping Cinquefoil (Potentilla reptans), Common Silverweed (Potentilla anserina), Wild Strawberry (Fragaria vesca)
Flying: Two generations, May and August
UK Presence: Resident
