General Information

Rough grassland and heathland where foodplant found. Characteristic whitish streak along the costa (re scientific name) Flying by day, but also sometimes coming to light. Larva feeds within seedpods of Gorse, living and feeding in a movable case.


Wingspan: 13-15mm
Foodplant(s): Gorse (Ulex europaeus)
Flying: One generation, mid May-mid July
National status: Common
