General Information

This species now only occurs coastally in Lincolnshire, but was previous found at various fenland sites in Cambridgeshire.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Male comes to light occasionally. Female not.
Flies during the day

Forewing length: M 15-16mm F 9-11mm.
Foodplant(s): Ribwort Plantain (Plantago lanceolata), Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria)
Flying: One generation, late May-June
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Red Data Book

Habitat

Fens and marshy fields, apparently favouring the drier more sparse areas.

Regional Information

Recorded in 4 (1.5%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 1965

Recorded date range (Adult): 05 April to 30 June
