The nominate form of this species is known as the Angle-barred Pug. There are two other forms; rustica (the Ash Pug) and tamariscata (Tamarisk Pug). There are differing opinions as to whether Ash Pug is a separate species (in Europe it is listed separately). There is also a view that Angle-barred Pug does not occur in this country and that they are all forms of Ash Pug.
Pupates in a crevice, in leaf litter or in loose soil.
