General Information

Pupates underground close to a tree trunk.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 18-23mm.
Foodplant(s): Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur), Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea)
Flying: One generation, September-October
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Broadleaved woodland, parkland, hedgerows and gardens.

Recorded in 63 (23.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
