General Information

Pupates in leaf litter.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 14-17mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.), broadleaved trees
Flying: One generation, September-November and March-May (hibernates)
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Mainly woodland habitats.

Regional Information

Recorded in 62 (23%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in May 2023
