General Information

Pupates in plant debris.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 12-13mm.
Foodplant(s): Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria), Common Valerian (Valeriana officinalis)
Flying: One generation, late June-early August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Damp grassland, marshes with rank vegetation, river valleys, low-lying areas and dry heath.

Regional Information

Recorded in 56 (20.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
