General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 11-12mm.
Foodplant(s): Tufted Hair-grass (Deschampsia cespitosa), Wood-sedge (Carex sylvatica), grasses, sedges (Carex spp.), rushes (Juncus spp.)
Flying: One generation, late May-early July
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Fens, marshes, acid bogs and boggy heathland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 2 (0.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
