Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 11-12mm.
Foodplant(s): Purple Moor-grass (Molinia caerulea), False Brome (Brachypodium sylvaticum), grasses
Flying: One generation, late May-July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland, heathland, grassland, fens and scrub, usually on acid/neutral soils.

Regional Information

Recorded in 66 (24.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
