General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 18-21mm.
Foodplant(s): Broom (Cytisus scoparius), Dyer's Greenweed (Genista tinctoria), Bramble (Rubus fruticosus), Redshank (Persicaria maculosa), broadleaved shrubs
Flying: One generation, May-mid July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Calcareous soils, open habitats, rough ground and heathland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 46 (17%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
