General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 15-16mm.
Foodplant(s): Heather (Calluna vulgaris), bedstraws (Galium spp.), Bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta), grasses, herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, August-October
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland fringes, heathland, grassland moorland and sandy or chalky soils.

Regional Information

Recorded in 3 (1.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
