Pupates on the ground or in loose soil.

Overwinters as Doesn't overwinter in the UK.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 33-35mm.
Foodplant(s): Grape-vine (Vitus vinifera), Virginia-creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia), bedstraws (Galium spp.), willowherbs (Epilobium spp.), fuschias (Fuschia spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-July and August-October
UK Presence: Immigrant
National status: Uncommon/Rare

Open places, usually coastal.
