General Information

This is one of the earlier Pugs to emerge in the spring.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 9-12mm.
Foodplant(s): Heather (Calluna vulgaris)
Flying: One generation, late April-June
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Heathland and moorland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 12 (4.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
