Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 10-12mm.
Foodplant(s): hawk's-beards (Crepis spp.), ragworts (Senecio spp.), Field Scabious (Knautia arvensis), St John's-worts (Hypericum spp.), Wild Marjoram (Origanum vulgare), Spanish Catchfly (Silene otites), Flixweed (Descurainia sophia), herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, June-early July
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Damp grassy places and saltmarshes.

Regional Information

Recorded in 19 (7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 2022
