General Information

The status of the four Dioryctria species in the UK is uncertain, as they are very difficult to tell apart.


Wingspan: 26-32 mm.
Foodplant(s): pines (Pinus spp.)
Flying: One generation, July-August
National status: Common

Regional Information

Recorded in 28 (10.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Recorded date range (Adult): 18 May to 23 September
