General Information

This is a quite variable species which can be distinguished by its broad, rounded forewing and marbled appearance of the wing pattern.


Wingspan: 14-20 mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.)
Flying: One generation, July-August
National status: Common

Habitat

Oak woodland and scrub.

Regional Information

Recorded in 57 (21.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
