General Information

This is a very variable species which closely resembles A. notana from which it can only be reliably distinguished by examination of the genitalia. A small black tuft of scales a short distance from the head is often diagnostic.

Flying: Two generations, July-August and October-April (hibernates)
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland.

Recorded in 34 (12.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
