General Information

Although very similar to A.heracliana, this moth can be distinguished by the five brownish lines in the cilia near the base of the hindwing.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.
Both sexes come to light.

Foodplant(s): Wild Angelica (Angelica sylvestris), Ground-elder (Aegopodium podagraria), Common Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium), Carrot (Daucus carota subsp. sativus), herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, August-May (hibernates)

National status: Common
