Although genital examination is required to reliably separate this moth from C. coracipennella and C. prunifoliae, this species is the most abundant.
Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.

Open woodland, scrub, orchards, gardens and hedgerows.

Recorded in 26 (9.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
