General Information

This species is one of several small, clearly-marked moths. It has the same characteristic 'head-down' resting posture as other members of this genus.

Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Flies during the day

Wingspan: 10-12mm
Foodplant(s): birches (Betula spp.), Alder (Alnus glutinosa)
Flying: Two overlapping generations, June-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common
