General Information

This moth has a metallic lustre and dark, leaden colours around the head and fringes, with silvery strigulae.

 

The larvae produce an oval mine sometimes crossing veins.


Wingspan: 6.5-7.5mm
Foodplant(s): elms (Ulmus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May and August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local
