General Information

This species has at least two generations and in favourable years three. It can overwinter as adult and reappear in April.

 

The larvae produce a long narrow twisting mine.


Wingspan: 8-9mm
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), cherries (Prunus spp.), Apple (Malus domestica), birches (Betula spp.), Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), Rosaceae (Rosaceae spp.)
Flying: Two/three overlapping generations, June-September
