General Information

This is a small brownish yellow moth with a metallic head and antennae.

 

The larvae produce a curved white gallery mine which leads to a broader pale brown blotch.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.

Wingspan: 7-8 mm.
Foodplant(s): Bramble (Rubus fruticosus)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Regional Information

Recorded in 208 (77%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in November 2023
