General Information

This moth has a diagnostic angled light streak starting at the leading edge of the forewing.

 

The larvae produce a gallery mine which leads to a squarish blotch. They later form up to three leaf tubes/cones.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.

Wingspan: 10-12mm
Foodplant(s): Field Maple (Acer campestre), Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus)
Flying: One generation, September-May (hibernates)

Recorded in 125 (46.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
