General Information

This moth has a distinctive row of blue-centred black dots on the hindwing. The male is slightly smaller and whiter than the female.


Wingspan: 18-24 mm.
Foodplant(s): duckweeds (Lemna spp.)
Flying: One generation, June-September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Coastal areas, river valleys and wetland areas.
