General Information

Pupates amongst pine needles either on or below the food plant.

Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 13-16mm.
Foodplant(s): Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris), Corsican Pine (Pinus nigra subsp. salzmannii var. corsicana)
Flying: One generation, July-November
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Found where its foodplant, Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) occurs.

Regional Information

Recorded in 7 (2.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Recorded date range (Adult): 19 May to 13 December
