General Information

This species is sexually dimorphic. The female is larger, has a darker ground colour with a much more protruding apex on the forewing than the male.


Wingspan: male: c. 20mm, female: c. 25mm
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.), elms (Ulmus spp.), Ash (Fraxinus excelsior), sallows (Salix spp.)
Flying: Two overlapping generations, June-August
National status: Local

Habitat

Woodland rides, forests and orchards.

Regional Information

Recorded in 55 (20.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
