General Information

Pupates in an underground chamber.

Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 18-21mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Saltmarsh-grass (Puccinellia maritima), Reflexed Saltmarsh-grass (Puccinellia distans), Bulbous Meadow-grass (Poa bulbosa), Red Fescue (Fectuca rubra), grasses
Flying: One generation, late June-early August
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Habitat

Saltmarsh, vegetated shingle, coastal grazing marshes, mudflats and fens. Usually coastal.

Regional Information

Recorded in 3 (1.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 1981
