The black paw-shaped mark beyond the centre and the dark leading edge of the light, grey/brown speckled forewing coupled with the sharply pointed hindwing distinguish this moth from the Sharp-angled Peacock (M. alternata).
Pupates in plant debris.
Broadleaved birch woodland, often on chalk.
Recorded in 22 (8.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
