General Information

Pupates in a crevice or in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 8-11mm.
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur)
Flying: One generation, April-early June
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Deciduous woodland and hedgerows.

Regional Information

Recorded in 59 (21.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in May 2025
